Just as I stepped outside onto the deck, she paused. Oh, I thought, what a neat shot; couldn't do that again if I tried. But then...
A little fawn burst from the fence line and started nursing.
And then another fawn ran up and started nursing on the other side. It's a little hard to see in the picture, but I saw it firsthand, trust me, there are two!
She tucked her head down and licked them just like the ewes do with their lambs.
After a while the fawns finished nursing and the trio jumped the fence and disappeared into the twilight.
If I saw this at one of those stalls in an arts festival I would want to buy it. Love, love love it.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks! It was mostly being in the right place at the right time!
ReplyDeleteThe most beautiful photos I´ve seen in a long, long time !!!! And thinking you could actually seize the moment makes it all more special. You have a piece of heaven in that farm, I hope I can visit again some day !!
